Email Clients: Instructions for configuring several email clients, including Outlook, Windows Mail, Thunderbird and Mac Mail, is available on 24HourSupport.com. When following these instructions, you will need the information below:

• Incoming mail server: pop.horizoncable.com

• Outgoing mail server: mail.horizoncable.com

• Email Address: Enter the email address you selected when you ordered your account

• Username: Your user name is the first part of your email address. For example, the username in helpdesk@horizoncable.com" is "helpdesk".

• Password: Enter the password you selected when you ordered your account

You can add email accounts or change passwords by calling our office or by using the Customer Control Panel.

Web Mail: You can access your email at any time from any computer with Internet access by using our Web Mail service. Simply visit www.horizoncable.com and click on the mail button at the top of the page. Then enter your username, password and security information.

To set up your personal web site, follow these steps:

1. Determine which HTML editor you are going to use to develop your web site. For more information on HTML, see the Web Design Group's web site.
2. Name your main page (the first HTML file that loads) index.html. By using this name, you avoid typing the file name in the URL. If you use a different name, such as home.html, you must include it in URL. When index.html is the main file, for example, you would type http://www.horizoncable.com/~username to load your home page. If you name your main file home.html, then you must type http://www.horizoncable.com/~username/home.html to view the page.
3. Upload your web pages to the HTML folder using FTP. The host address is ftp.horizoncable.com. Enter the username and password associated with your account.

   WARNING: ALL OF THE SERVER'S PERMISSIONS ARE SET CORRECTLY. DO NOT ADJUST THE FILE OR DIRECTORY PERMISSIONS.

4. To view your pages in a browser, enter the URL of the desired page. The URL of a page on your web site is http://www.horizoncable.com/~username/filename.html. For example, the URL to a personal home page for a customer with the username "johndoe" might be http://www.horizoncable.com/~johndoe/home.html.(Note: You do not include the HTML directory when typing your URL. The server automatically points to that directory.)
